What is the ALCAN5000?

The 2006 Alcan will be a 9-day, 5000 mile grand tour of the North, including dual-sport motorcycles for the third time. We'll start near Seattle and finish in Anchorage to allow 2 nights in Dawson City plus the North Canol, Dempster, Top of the World and Denali Highways. 2006 is the 18th Alcan event, and 22nd anniversary.

The Alcan starts August 14th and ends on the 23rd in Anchorage. I will be riding with Team Mutiny. There are four of us.

Since I started riding motorcycles, it has been a dream of mine to ride to Alaska on my motorcycle. The Alcan is making that dream a reality. Since my dreams are coming true, I wanted to take this opportunity to give something back. I am using my ride in the Alcan 5000 to raise money for two organizations: Make-a-Wish Foundation and the Copper River Watershed Project.

I made these choices so that one group would be national in scope and the other would have a focus in Alaska. The Make-a-Wish Foundation helps make dreams come true for children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy. The Copper River Watershed Project (CRWP) was created to benefit communities along the Copper River, in the upper basin and delta of the Copper River.

My goal is to raise $2,000 $3,000 to split evenly between these two groups. In the case that I exceed this amount, I may add some more charities.

GOAL: $2,000$3,000

CURRENT: $2,270
